In addition to the emergency lighting, the means of escape, including stairways and exits, shall be marked by lighting of photoluminescent strip indicators placed not more than 0.3m (300mm) above the deck at all points of the escape route including angles and intersections. The marking must enable passengers to identify all the routes of escape and readily identify escape exits. Low location lighting near FD 10-3-009 was out. Cite: 74 SOLAS 97 II-2/28.1.10

The construction of all doors and door frames in "A" class divisions, with the means of securing them when closed, shall provide resistance to fire as well as to the passage of smoke and flame, as far as practicable, equivalent to that of the bulkheads in which the doors are situated. Such doors and door frames shall be constructed of steel or other equivalent material. FD 11-4-048, FD 10-04-030, and FD 10-5-034 did not latch during testing of fire doors.
