THE CONDITION OF THE SHIP AND ITS EQUIPMENT SHALL BE MAINTIANED TO CONFORM WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE PRESENT REGULATIONS TO ENSURE THAT THE SHIP IN ALL REPSECTS WILL REMAIN FIT TO PROCEED TO SEA WITHOUT DANGER TO THE SHIP OR PERSONS ON BOARD. SECTION 14.3 OF SMS PROCEDURES EXPLAIN THAT ONBOARD OPERATIONAL TESTS OF THE FIXED GAS SYSTEM SHOULD BE CONDUCTED REGULARLY. FLOW FAILURE ALARMS WOULD NOT TRIGGER DESPITE CLOSING VALVES TO ALL SAMPLING POINTS.
