1899- Portable instruments for measuring oxygen and flamable vapour concentration shall be provided. PSCO observed that the battery was low and needed to be replaced on one O2 instrument. Additionally, one flammable vapour instrument was connected with incorrect quick connect interconnect. The pump on one flammable vapour instrument was not functioning. 74 SOLAS(04) II-2/4.5.3.2;FSS Ch. 15/2.4.2.4

1730- Oily Water Separating Equipment- Oil filtering equipment shall be such that an oily mixture discharged into the sea after passing through the system has an oil content not exceeding 15 ppm. PSCO observed that the OWS is not properly functioning. Crew stated malfunction in most likely with the internal power supply unit for the oil content meter. MARPOL ANNEX I CH. 3/14.6

PSCO observed the port aft vapor manifold was painted in a sequence of gray/yellow/red and the word "VAPOUR" was painted yellow. 46 CFR 39.2001(h)(1)

Resolution: After running the generator using battery start several times they hydraulic starat worked on the 7th attempt. PSCO returned 2 hours later and satisfactorily tested hydraulic starting system.

Resolution: Received Tech report attesting to the proper operation of the vessels AIS system. Vessel had new AIS system installed. All tests fully operational.
