An existing vessel may be deemed by the OCMI, or TPO, to be in compliance with this subpart provided that The vessel has been both in satisfactory service insofar as structural adequacy is concerned and does not cause the structure of the vessel to be questioned by the [name withheld] are several areas of the overhead in the forward generator space that are completely wasted/holed. In addition, the missing part of the forward engine room bulkhead identified during the 2022 annual inspection has not been repaired. Make repairs prior to returning to commercial service.

Electrical connections must be suitably installed to prevent them from coming loose through vibration or accidental contact. There is an electrical junction box for the port-forward deck lighting that is wired with the junction box cover screwed on top of the wire instead of the wire feeding through the box.

An existing vessel may be deemed by the OCMI to be in compliance with this part provided that the vessel is maintained to conform with the rules of a class society or does not cause the structure of the vessel to be questioned by the [name withheld] are several areas of the vessel where the superstructure meets the main deck that has steel with significant corosion and has been unsatisfactorily repaired utilizing an epoxy-like material. In addition, there is a section of the forward E/R bulkhead (portside) that is missing. Crop and renew all sections of the superstructure in question and replace the missing section of the fwd E/R bulkhead prior to commercial operations.
