Resolution: The vessel recieved staff have renewed the penetration with schedule 80 1 inch steel pipe. Class report: "The newly installed pipe and penetration was inspected closely and tested and found Satisfactorily"

For tankers of 20000 DWT and upwards, the protection for the cargo tanks shall be achieved by a fixed inert gas system in accoedance with the requirements of the Fire Safety System Code. The IG system shall be capable of delivering inert gas with an oxygen content of not more than 5% by volume to the cargo tanks at any required rate of flow. The crew was unable to verify the O2% beinng delivered. Prove proper operation if IG System and analyzer calibration prior to discharging a cargo in the United Stated that requires to be inerted.

Resolution: Humidity/moistutre when initial tested resulted in unstable reading while performing
the calibration. O2 analyzer unit now verified/tested by the undersigned Surveyor assisted by the Chief Engineer and his Crew and verified in good working order.
