Cabin doors in "B" class divisions shall be of a self-closing type. Hold-back hooks are not permitted. PSCO observed three cabins on deck three that were propped open and unattended. 74SOLAS II-2/9.4.1.2.2

Waste receptacles shall be constructed of non-combustible materials with no openings in the sides or bottom.PSCO observed several plastic garbage cans on deck 3 and 4, specifically in the main laundry space and in the vicinity of the gangway area. 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/4.4.2

74SOLAS 20 II-2/9.1.3 10C 07103 The purpose of this regulation is to contain fire in the space of origin. For this purpose, the following functional requirements must be met: the fire integrity of the divisions shall be maintained at openings and penetrations. Pipe penetration for fuel oil tank level sensor in emergency generator room was provided with spacers but not with fire/smoke prevention compound installed.

A general emergency alarm system complying with the requirements of paragraph 7.2.1 of the Code shall be provided and shall be used for summoning passengers and crew to muster stations and to initiate the actions included in the muster list. The system shall be supplemented by either a public address system complying with the requirements of paragraph 7.2.2 of the Code or other suitable means of communication. Entertainment sound systems shall automatically be turned off when the general emergency alarm system is activated. PSCOs observed that sound systems within the arcade area (several arcade machines) continued to make noise while the public address system was activated. 74 SOLAS 20 III/6.4.2

The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. While inbound to Port Canaveral the ship reported a hydraulic leak from steering motor pump #4 on the port side Azipod, leading to the reduction of the vessel's speed and the motor being isolated from the system for repairs. 74 SOLAS 20 I/11

Fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use...PSCO observed a soft patch temporary repair on #1 FP topping off pump piping. 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/14.2.1.2

Fire doors in main vertical zone bulkheads, galley boundaries, and stairway enclosures, remote-released sliding or power-operated doors shall be equipped with an audible alarm that sounds at least 5s but no more than 10s after the door is released form the central control station and before the door begins to move and continues sounding until the door is completely closed. PSCO observed WTD 1-5-03 and WTD 1-5-04 did not audibily alarm when closed remotely. 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/9.4.1.1.5.10

Escape doors from public spaces that are normally latched shall be fitted with a means of quick release. Such means shall consst of a door-latching mechanism incoperating a device that releases the latch upon application of a for in the direction of escape flow. Excessive amount of twist locks in category 8 spaces to include lounges, gym, child care area, restaurants, and throughout upper decks. Areas that have been updated during the vessel's latest refurbishment have had the locks removed, but the majority of the category 8 spaces on the ship still have the twist locks. Additionally, the height of the lock above the ground is inconstant, being far higher in the child care area than the other spaces. 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/13.3.2.6.2

The means of escape, including stairways and exits, shall be marked by lighting or photoluminescent strip indicators placed not more than 300 mm above the deck at all points of the escape route, including angles and intersections. The marking must enable passengers to identify the routes of escape and readily identify the escape exits. If electric illumination is used, it shall be supplied by the emergency source of power and it shall be so arranged that the failure of any single light or cut in a lighting strip will not result in the marking being ineffective. Additionally, escape route signs and fire equipment location markings shall be of photoluminescent material or marked by lighting. Emergency exit signage from spa reception area facing the wrong direction. Additionally, low location lighting on the other side of the door indicates exit from adjacent place that is not in emergency escape plan. 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/13.3.2.5.1

0750-Fire Prevention- Doors and door frames in "b" class divisions and means of securing them shall provid a metho of closure which shall have resistiance to fire equivalent to that of the divisions.
