Before the vessel leaves port and and all times during the voyage, each lifesaving appliance must be in working order and ready for immediate use. Rescue boat #4 had a drop in pressure from its stored form of power system (accumulator). Port oar lock was cracked compromising the ability to seat the oar lock in place. Provide schedule of periodic maintenance checklists. Noted: Hull deflections caused by improper stowage, stress cracks and missing plugs were observed that do not impact the rescue boats operating condition will be subject to continued monitoring on follow-up USCG inspections and crew weekly checks.

Remote valve controls that are not readily identifiable as to service must be fitted with nameplates The Marine Inspector found that many of the remote manual operating valves have covers that are not easy to open, and the labeling is not easy to read. (The access are stamped but not easy to read). Demonstrate to the attending Marine Inspector that all the remote valves and access covers can be easily opened, operated easily identified as to their service.
