Lifeboat davit subjected to excessive shock and twisting from a problem with launching. The aft end became hung up, and when it let go, one turn of wire came off the winch drum. Inspect and make any repairs required, and ensure proper operation of both lifeboat launching systems to the satisfaction of attending class surveyor.

Resolution: Class surveyor completed an inspection of the davit system and found no damage. Proper operation of both lifeboats demonstrated, and all appeared to be in order.
