0750 - Fire Prevention - "A" Class divisions are so constructed to prevent the passage of smoke and flame. There are cable penetrations allowing the passage of smoke and flame through the electrical cable trunks from main deck to the navigation bridge. SOLAS 74(2004 Cons.) II-2/3.2.4 - 17ac.

1030-Steering Gear Alarm-Hydraulic power operated steering gear shall be provided with a low-level alarm for each hydraulic fluid reservoir with accompanying audible and visual alarms on navigation bridge and machinery space. Crew was unable to satisfactorily test the low-level alarms for steering pumps 1 and 2, and could not produce visual and audible alarms. SOLAS 74 (2004 Cons) II-1/12.2 - 17ac

Resolution: Received, reviewed and accepted class report from BV stating the deficiency was rectified. Crew presented instructions demonstrating proper procedures for testing 15ppm content meter and sufficient test of OCM shut down and alarm was performed.
