Issued 26 February 2018 Resolved
The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels associated piping systems and fittings shall be of design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended. The vessel reported and is discharging lubrication from the shaft seal. The vessel shall mitigate any environmental impact by containing and removing oil discharge while in the port of Charleston. 74 SOLAS (14) II-1/26.1
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Resolved 5 March 2018
Resolution: Vessel repaired shaft seal to stop the lube oil discharge.
