A vessel not required to have a power driven fire pump by 181.300 must have at least three 9.5 liter (2 1/2 gallon) buckets, with an attached lanyard satisfactory to the cognizant OCMI, placed so as the easily available during an emergency. The words " FIRE BUCKET" must be stenciled in a contrasting color on each bucket. MI discovered the fire buckets to be broken and non operational. Make repairs to the satisfaction of the attending MI.
