(46 CFR 178.40-1(c)-1969) Provide dead covers for six (6) portlights in the forward space, readily accessible for use in case of emergency. The vessel is restricted to the waters of the Chicago River, west of the Chicago lock during the winter season (October 1 – April 15) and to the waters of Lake Michigan west of the outer Chicago breakwalls and north of a track line established between the dome of the Adler Planetarium and the outer breakwall south end light 19980 during the summer season (April 16 – September 30).
