In addition fresh food waste was found in the food grinder in the galley. Believe the cook was disposing of food waste while in port. All containers must be properly marked according to the plan and the grinder secured while in port.

Lifesaving › Immersion Suits › General

During the lifeboat drill the crew put on their immersion suits. More than half of them went pass the 2, minute time required by LSA Code 2.3.1.1. The suits had buoyancy chambers, when crewmembers did get them on they asked the USCG inspector if they had to put on their lifejackets over the suits. One member could not put his on due to his size. Training plus one XXXL suit needs to be provided.

OWS ships dwgs is showing a check valve (#BG50), and OWS units instruction manual does not show this valve on its schematics or mention procedures for its use. This valve connects the OWS overboard line and return line (bilge holding tank), and is additionally located after three way valve.. OWS inst manual must be ammended to include location/function of valve. To satisfaction of class society.
