Be installed with metal supports spaced not more than 610 millimeters (24 inches) apart, and in such a manner as to avoid chafing and other damage. The use of plastic tie wraps must be limited to bundling or retention of multiple cable installations, and not used as a means of support, except that on vessels of not more than 19.8 meters (65 feet). MI observed excessive use of zipties for supporting multiple cable transit in 1) engine room, 2) Fuel tank void, 3) pilot house; replace with appropriate metallic support to MI satisfaction. 46 CFR 183.340

A pre-engineered fixed gas fire extinguishing system must: be installed in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. While attending vessel, MI observed fireboy interlock fail; upon electrically simulating activation, the engines properly secured but were able to be started without the override function being enabled.

Vessel owner/operator notified CG that the vessel suffered damage due to Hurricane Sally in accordance with applicable regulatory cite. Vessel must make permanent repair/alteration to the satisfaction of the OCMI in accordance with 46 CFR 176.700(a).
