The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. On response to marine casualty of the M/V MSC APOLLO (Fire in Engine Room on Gen #4), PSCO observed Gen #4 to have excessive oil saturation smoke damage and residual dry powder from fire extinguishers. Additionally observed fuel oil leak on Gen #1 cylinder #8. Additionally Chief Engineer reported that Gen #3 is out of commission. Require Class report attesting to safe and operational condition of the vessel prior to vessel departure from the port of Mobile AL.
