The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. Ship reported that its inert gas system display has developed an operational problem not allowing inert gas to be delivered in the automatic mode, only in the manual mode. Vessel is prohibited from conducting cargo operations until the problem with the inert gas system display is rectified to the satisfaction of the classification surveyor. Vessel is to provide a class report.

Resolution: Received statement from ABS surveyor stating that the problem with IGS was caused by an incorrect setting. Issue was resolved and system tested satisfactorily. Deficiency cleared.
