The spring in a relief valve in service for pressures up to and including 250 pounds per square inch shall not be reset for any pressure more than 10 percent above or 10 percent below that for which the relief valve is marked. The installed relief valve was set to relieve pressure at 150psi and was actuated at 180psi during the air receiver test, above the 10% reset threshold. Rectify prior to using auxiliary machinery associated with air receiver.

During an internal structural examination, damage or deterioration to the structural members is discovered, the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection, may require the vessel to be drydocked or otherwise taken out of service to further assess the extent of the damage and to effect permanent repairs. During the ISE, noticed standing water and extensive rust scaling throughout entire void spaces making it difficult to determine deterioration to hull plating and structural members. Remove water from interior void spaces and descale to assess the overall thickness of the steel prior to credit ISE.
