All livesaving appliances and arrangements shall comply with the applicable requirements of the LSA Code. The PSCO witnessed the crew was unable to recover the starboard lifeboat after lowering operations. The electrician stated that there is an electrical malfunction between the breaker panel for the davit and the control panel for the davit located on the weather deck. The crew was only able to recover the lifeboat using emergency means located on the breaker panel. (Code 17ac) Regulatory Cite: 74SOLAS(14) III/34 & LSA CODE 6.1.1.8.
