Hydraulic power operated steering gear shall be provided with the following a low level alarm for each hydraulic fluid reservior to give the earliest practicable indication of hydraulic fluid leakage. Audible and visial alarms shall be given on the navigational bridge and in the machinary space where they can be readily observed. psc observed testing of low level hydraulic on the No. 2 steering pump no alarm sounded during operational testing.

Resolution: Electrician was able to fix the the alarm. Coast guard wintnessed testing of alarms and found to be working in good order.

All external high-pressure fuel delivery lines between the high pressure fuel pumps and fuel injectors shall be protected with a jacketed piping system capable of containing fuel from a high pressure line failure. PSCO observed 04 double jacketed fuel lines on cylinders 5, 6, 7, and 8 that are frayed and exposing the internal line. 74 SOLAS (01) II-2/4.2.2.5.2
