Totally enclosed lifeboats shall be fitted with a safety belt at each seating position. The safety belt shall be designed to hold a person with a mass of 100kg securely in place when the lifeboat is in a capsized position. Lifeboats contain multiple safety belts that are inoperable due to corrosion of the buckles and safety belt connections to the lifeboat. Action Taken: 17a
