Resolution: SHG received Class report attesting that the pipe was de-rusted and re-threaded. Sounding pipe caps were replaced.

On vessel's inbound transit, the pilot noticed vessel's secondary radar (x band) was malfunctioning , upon further investigation it was found that the magnetron was inoperable and a spare was in transit. Solas (2004 Cons Ed) Ch V reg 19.2.7

Resolved 9 May 2008
Resolution: Investigation by Sperry Marine found faulty magnetron, motor drive PCB and input PCB. Technician replaced faulty componets, tuned system and tested system on all ranges and pulse lengths. radar was tested to the satisfaction of the attending surveyor.
