The machinery, boiler, and other pressure vesssels, associated piping systems and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the sevice for which they are intended. PSCO observed the steam baffle line IWO cargo tank 4/5 port side has failed. Crew replaced with straight piping. Rectify deficiency prior to cargo operations requiring elevated temperatures.

Each survival craft shall be stowed: Fully equipped as required by this chapter and code. A food ration as described in paragraph 4.1.5.1.18. totaling not less than 10,000 KJ for each person the lifeboat is permitted to accomodate; these rations shall be kept in airtight packaging and be stowed in a watertight container. PSCO observed food rations in the free-fall lifeboat with the vacuum seal compromised.

Resolution: Received e-mail with scanned ABS classification society survey report #LA3616917 from agent stating deficiency issued has been rectified. Survey report states: All food rations have been replaced for the lifeboat through procurement. Deficiency cleared.
