1410 - Main Engine - The purpose of this regulation is to prevent the ignition of combustible materials or flammable liquids. For this purpose, the following functional requirements shall be met: Means shall be provided to control leaks or flammable liquids. PSCO observed the No. 3 fuel pump on the main engine was leaking diesel fuel. SOLAS 74(14) II-2/4.1.1; 60a.

Action required: 60 - Rectify deficiencies prior to movement

Resolution: Received, reviewed and accepted class report [name withheld] stating the deficiency was rectified. The class report stated: C/E replaced "O" ring on fuel pump #3 and main engine tests were satisfactory.
