Fire doors in main vertical zone bulkheads, galley boundaries, and stairway enclosures, except those for emergency escape trunks, shall be capable of remote release from the continuously manned central control station, either simultaneously or in groups, and shall be capable of release also individually from a position at both sides of the door. Release switches shall have an on-off function to prevent automatic resetting of the system. PSCO observed an inoperable release switch for fire screen door #10531A. 74 SOLAS (20) II-2/9.4.1.1.5.3 - Code 07105 - 50ac.

Action required: 50 - Rectify deficiencies w/in 30 days

Resolution: Vessel personnel repaired inoperable release switch to the satisfaction of attending USCG PSCO.

Muster and embarkation stations shall be adequately illuminated by lighting supplied form the emergency source of electrical power required by regulation II-1/42 or II-1/43. PSCO observed inoperable embarkation lighting on vessel's port side by lifeboat #6 and lifeboat #10. 74 SOLAS (20) III/11.4 - Code 11124 - 10c.
