Every line above is a count of records the US Coast Guard wrote, or a date it recorded. A blank resolution means none was recorded in this data; it does not establish that a deficiency is outstanding. Years with a record are calendar years in which a record exists, not years in service. 07 - Fire Safety › N/A - No Subsystem › Other (fire safety)
Issued 12 November 2020 Resolved
To stop the flow of fuel in the event of a fire or break in the fuel line, a remote fuel shutoff valve must be fitted on any fuel line that supplies fuel directly to a propulsion engine or generator prime mover. The fuel shut off valve for the #2 fwd port fuel tank was found inoperable upon initial testing. Excessive force had to be applied to activate the valve. Grease was applied to the cable and conduit which eventually restored the operability of the shut off valve to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspectors. Verified the crew is performing tests of fuel shut off valves at required frequencies.
