A minimum of two two-way portable radiotelephone apparatus for each fire paryt for fire-fighters communications shall be carried onboard. These two-way portable radiotelephone apparatus shall be of an explosion proof type or intrinsically safe. The vessel did not have intrinsically safe firefighting radios. SOLAS (14 cons) Ch. II/2 Reg.10.4
