all ships of 500gt and upwards shall have a gyro compass heading repeater, or other means, to supply heading informationvisually at the memergency steering station if provided. the gyro heading was displaying 244° at the emergency steering staton, when the correct gyro heading on the bridge was indicating 228°, a difference of 16°.
