A submersible electric bilge pump may be used as a power bilge pump if a positive shutoff valve is installed at the hull penetration. The Bilge pumps on the vessel were missing positive shutoff valves at the hull penetration, install valves for the bilge pumps at the hull penetrations.

Each ring buoy with a floating waterlight must have a lanyard of at least 910 millimeters (3 feet) in length, but not more that 1830 millimeters (6 feet), securing the waterlight around the body of the ring buoy. The vessel's waterlight's lanyard was only about 1 foot in length, install a new lanyard at least 3 feet but not more than 6 feet in length to the waterlight.

A vessel not required to have a power driven fire pump must have at least three 9.5 liter (2 1/2 gallon) buckets, with an attached lanyard satisfactory to the cognizant OCMI with the words "FIRE BUCKET" stenciled in contrasting colors. The vessel's fire buckets were 5 gallon buckets, replace with 2 1/2 gallon buckets.
