An interconnected detection and alarm system must: Consist of multiple-station smoke detectors listed by an NRTL, or independent laboratory accepted by the Commandant according to 46 CFR subpart 159.010, as meeting UL 217 (incorporated by reference, see 46 CFR 175.600); Be installed such that the actuation of alarm in one area results in both audible and visual alarms in all areas required by 46 CFR 181.405(c) or 118.400(d) to be protected by the interconnected detection and alarm system; Contain an independent power source; and Alarm on low power. The vessel is not in compliance with interconnected detection and alarm system requirements. The vessel must complete the installation of an interconnected detection and alarm system prior to receiving credit for it's annual inspection. The latest date for the annual inspection is 27April2024.

Each vessel certificated to operate on an oceans route in warm water must either: (1) Be provided with inflatable buoyant apparatus of an aggregate capacity that will accommodate at least 67% of the total number of persons permitted on board; or (2) Be provided with life floats of an aggregate capacity that will accommodate at least 100% of the total number of persons permitted on board. Vessel is missing two IBA and can not accomadate 67% of the vessel's capacity.The Vessel is restricted to 21 passengers until the 2 missing IBAs are installed on the vessel.
