74SOLAS(14) II-2/4.5.5.1.1 FSS 15/2.3.1.2.1 For tankers of 20,000 tonnes deadweight and upwards, the protection of the cargo tanks shall be achieved by a fixed inert gas system in accordance with the requirements of the fire safety systems code. Special consideration shall be given to the design and location of scrubber and blowers with relevant piping and fittings in order to prevent flue gas leakages into enclosed spaces. PSCO observed leaking flue gas on #1 and #2 blowers from the shaft seal.
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 60 - Rectify deficiencies prior to movement
