All ships of 500 gross tonnage and upwards shall, in addition to meeting the requirements of paragraph 2.3, with the exception of 2.3.3 and 2.3.5, and the requirements of paragraph 2.4, have: a gyrocompass, or other means, to determine and display their heading by shipborne non-magnetic means, being clearly readable by the helmsman at the main steering position. These means shall also transmit heading information for input to the equipment referred in paragraphs 2.3.2, 2.4, and 2.5.5. Vessel reported gyrocompass is not transmitting heading information to the radars or ECDIS.

11108 - Inflatable Liferafts Each liferaft or group of liferafts shall be stowed with a float-free arrangement complying with the requirements of paragraph 4.1.6 of the code so that each floats free,. PSCO observed that the hydrostatic release device was not properly installed on port side liferaft, causing the painter attachment not to be connected to the weak link. SOLAS(20) III/13.4.2

Resolution: Hydrostatic release installation fixed according to manufacturer instruction.

PSCO observed water leaking from the sight glass on the inert gas system scrubber. SOLAS (20) I/11(a)

Resolution: The IGG Scrubber sight glass was disconnected, cleaned, repacked, then reinstalled, visually inspected, operationally tested and considered satisfactory.

06107 - Cargo Operation Cargo tanks shall be fitted with a visual and audible high-level alarm which complies with 15.19.1 to 15.19.5 and which indicates when the liquid level in the cargo tank approaches the normal full condition. PSCO observed malfunction of No. 3 port high-level visual alarm. SOLAS (20) VII/10.1 IBC Code 15.19.6

Resolved 1 February 2023
Resolution: Crew cleaned sensor on high-level alarm. Reinstalled and were able to produce visual high-level alarm.

Resolved 1 February 2023
Resolution: Air compressor reconnected to air horn for high and overfill alarms. Audible and visual alarms witnessed by PSCO.
