Each lifefloat must be capable of float free and be arranged as follows: a painter line that encircles the body of the lifefloat and will not slip off; the strength of the float-free link and the strength of the groups single painter must be appropriate for the combined capacity of the group of lifefloats. Vessel painter line for both port and starboard were attached to a grab line and the port and starboard weaklink was rated for 21 or more capacity when the total capacity for each stack was 20 persons(two ten-man lifefloats).
