The arrangement of the water seal or equivalent devices and its associated fittings shall be such that it will prevent backflow of vapors and liquids and will ensure the proper functioning of the seal under operating conditions. Deck water seal level indicating device housing was found with the two lower bolts broken off inside the deck water seal. Vessel currently has two turnbuckles wedged between deck piping and the level indicating device housing to keep the device from leaking.
