IN ADDITION TO THE REQUIREMENTS CONTAINED ELSEWHERE IN THE PRESENT REGULATIONS, SHIPS SHALL BE DESIGNED, CONSTRUCTED AND MAINTAINED IN COMPLIANCE WITH STRUCTUREAL, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS OF A CLASSIFICATIN SOCIETY WHICH IS RECOGNIZED BY THE ADMINISTRATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF REGULATIONS XI/1, OR WITH APPLICABLE NATIONAL STANDARDS OF THE ADMINISTRATION WHICH PROVIDE AN EQUIVALENT LEVEL OF SAFETY. THE ALARM REPEATER IN THE SHIPS OFFICE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, INDICATING 13 FAULT ALARMS, WHICH THE SHIPS CREW WAS UNABLE TO CLEAR. THE SHIP OFFICE ALARM REPEATER IN THE SHIP OFFICE SHOULD WORK THE SAME AS ALL OTHER SHIP ALARM PANELS IN THE SHIP, AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED.
