Chief stated normal engine parameters is 6500 liters of oil in the sump and after casualty only 400 remain. - SOLAS I/11.

0936 - Steering Gear - During steering exam PSCO found #1 steering pump would energize but not perform any helm commands from the bridge in the hand position or non follow up positions. System #1 and system #2 both had negative results with pump #1. Pump #2 operated as designed. Local steering was fully operational with both pumps. - SOLAS II-1/ 29.

Chief Engineer stated pressure test was done with dry pipe air pressure only. Hydrostatic test of bunker lines must be completed prior to any bunker operations in the United States. - 33CFR156.170.
