All automatically or remotely controlled or monitored vital systems addressed by 46 CFR part 62 must be subject to tests and inspections to evaluate the operation and reliability of controls, alarms safety features, and interlocks. Test procedures must be submitted to the Coast Guard for approval. Persons designated by the vessel shall conduct all tests and the Periodic Safety tests shall be witnessed by the Coast Guard. Periodic Safety Test Procedure Documents approved by the Coast Guard must be retained aboard the vessel. Coast Guard approved Periodic Safety Test Procedures were not available during the inspection. Provide approved Periodic Safety test procedures that include the equipment requiring testing outlined in 46 CFR 61.40-6 (Periodic Safety Tests). The test procedure details are required to meet 46 CFR 61-40-10 (Test Procedure Details) for the equipment being tested. 46cfr 61.40-1

Option B: Operate a closed bus configuration with three parallel generators online – taking operational safety precautions. If a black out occurs, an operational check once power is brought back online to verify the loads from 5Q are available shall be conducted. Additionally, a verification checklist and process to confirm power supply checks after a failure shall be submitted electronically to ABS and USCG.
