09 SOLAS 74 II-2 / 13.3.1.5 DOORS IN ESCAPE ROUTES SHALL BE CAPABLE OF OPING IWO ESCAPE. A METAL DOOR WAS FITTED IN THE MAIN PASSAGEWAY LEADING TO THE MAIN STAIRWELL. THE DOOR WAS CAPABLE OF BEING LOCKED FROM THE MAIN PASSAGWAY BUT NOT UNLOCKED FROM THE MAIN STAIRWELL, AN ESCAPE ROUTE. THE DOOR WAS NOT ADDRESSED IN THE SHIP'S SECURITY PLAN, BUT WAS PUT IN PLACE FOR PIRATES.
