74 SOlAS (20) II-2/11.6.3.2: A secondary means of allowing full flow relief of vapor, air, or inert gas mixtures shall be provided to prevent over pressure or under presure in the event of failure of the arrangments. Alternatively pressure sensors may be fitted in each tank with a monitoring system in the ship's cargo control room of the position from which cargo operations are normally carried out. Such monitoring equipment shall also provide an alarm facility which is activated by detection of over pressure or under pressure conditions within a tank. PSCO observed cargo tank 2(P) pressure sensor malfunction and alarm triggered in CCR.

No electrical equipment shall be installed in any space where flammable mixtures are liable to collect unless the administration is satisfied that such equipment is appropriate to the space concerned. PSCO found conduit piping for the following to be wasted through allowing vapors to enter protected spaces: temperature sensor conduit for 2 port and 6 stbd; pressure sensor conduit for 1 stbd, 2 port, 2 stbd; junction box conduit for 5 stbd, port slop, stbd slop. Rectify to the satisfaction of class prior to cargo.
