THE MAINTENANCE PLAN SHALL INCLUDE FIXED FIRE DETECTION AND FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS. VESSEL WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE TESTING PROCEDURES FOR FLAME DETECTORS, THEREFORE EXAMANINERS WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF VESSEL CREW IS MAINTAINING THE SYSTEM PROPERLY.

Two seat belts on port side lifeboat do not function due to excessive rust. There are 25 seats and 23 crew, so there are sufficient seats for all crew. However, not having all seat belts working poses a hazard to crew safety in the event of abandon ship. SOLAS 01 III/31.1.1 LSA IV/4.6.3.1
