Oil fuel pipes, which, if damaged, would allow oil to escape from a storage, or daily service tank having a capacity of 500L and above, shall be fitted with a cock and valve directly on the tank capable from being closed outside the space. During test of the fuel shut off valve for the EDG system, the PSC examiner observed the wire cable from the fuel valve to the pull lever part/separate. 74 SOLAS (2014) Chp.11-2 Reg 4.2.2.3.4
The PSCO observed that the crew was unable to demonstrate proper operation of the oily water separator. The piping to the sample port intake of the oil content meter was found to be clogged resulting in a false sample reading that would allow overboard discharge to occur. MARPOL (11) Annex I/6.4.1

Resolution: Received Class report from RINA attesting that Both filter units, were opened, cleaned and cartridge filters were renewed. The sample piping was removed and made free of any blockage."
The PSCO observed a 5 degree error from the conning position on the bridge in relation to the actual rudder position as indicated on the steering gear. SOLAS (14) V/19.2.5.4

Resolution: Received Class report from RINA attesting " tech realigned the mechanical linkage and readjusted the zero and span potentiometers. Tests were carried out and with good , error is within 1-1.5 degrees. The rudder angle indicators are functioning correctly"
