An interconnected detection and alarm system must: (2) Be installed such that the actuation of alarm in one area results in both audible and visual alarms in all areas required by 46 CFR 181.405(c) or 118.400(d) to be protected by the interconnected detection and alarm system. Vessel had detectors in accommodation rooms but did not have visual and audible means. Vessel was aware and Maritime Safety Solutions was on board, informed MI that parts are on back order and personnel with company working on another project. Once parts and personnel are available have system installed as per regulation and tested. 46 CFR 181.450(a)(2)
