"All lifesaving appliances and arrangements shall comply with the applicable requirements of the code. In addition to complying with the requirements of section 4.6 or 4.7 as applicable, a lifeboat with a self contained air support system shall be so arranged that, when proceeding with all entrances and openings closed, the air in the lifeboat remains safe and breathable and the engine runs normally for a period of not less than 10 mins." PSCO observed an air leak in the starboard side lifeboat air support system. Correct prior to carrying cargoes with a flashpoint less than 60 degrees C and require an air supported lifeboat.

Cargo tanks shall be fitted with a visual audible high level alarm which complies with 15.9.1 to 15.9.5 and which indicates when the liquid level in the cargo tank approaches the normal fuel condition. PSCO observed cargo tank 2 stbd high level and overfill alarms to sound at the same level. Correct prior to loading cargo tank in cargo tank 2 stbd.
