Any ship of 400 gross tonnage (ITC) and above shall be fitted with oil filtering equipment. Oil filtering equipment shall be provided with alarm arrangements to indicate when 15ppm cannot be maintained. The system shall also be provided with arrangements to ensure that any discharge of oily oily mixtures is automatically stopped when the oil content of the effluent exceeds 15ppm. Oil content meter on oily water separator was found with low battery error during OWS testing. OWS must be serviced to replace battery and tested in the presence of a Marine Inspector.

For the vessel leaves port and at all times during the voyage, each lifesaving appliance must be in working order and ready for immediate use. Deck buoys were found in use on bridge wing connected to self-activating smoke signals instead of bridge buoys. Bridge buoys must be fitted on bridge wings prior to departure.

Lifejackets and lifebuoys were found faded w/deteriorated markings and reflective tape.
