All life saving appliances and arrangements shall comply with the applicable requirements of the code. Lifeboats which are not self-righting when capsized shall have suitable handholds on the underside of the hull to enable persons to cling to the lifeboat. Oil filtering equipment referred to in paragraph 1 of this regulation shall be of a design approved by the Administration and shall be such as will ensure that any oily mixture discharged into the sea after passing through the system has an oil content not exceeding 15 PPM. The first time the Second Engineer tested the OWS, there was air in the 107 filtering equipment and the content meter was unable to get under 45 PPM. The second test by the Chief Engineer, the three way valve one OWS was found to be unreliable. The alarm on the OCM would ring once the PPM exceeded 15 PPM, but the 3 way valve would take longer than 20 seconds to activate. The third test yielded the same result as the first.

External high pressure fuel delivery lines shall be protected with a jacketed piping system capable of containing fuel from line failure. The double jacketing on 01 high pressure fuel oil line on cylinder 2 was cracked and exposed the high pressure fuel line. 74 SOLAS (2004 CONS) II-2/ 4.2.2.5.2 17A

The condition of the ship shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. A soft patch was observed on the jacket water cooling line on the emergency diesel generator. 74SOLAS (2014 CONS) I/11 (a) 50A

The ring lines, and letters shall be painted in yellow or white on a dark ground or in black on a light ground. The load line is painted black on a dark ground on starboard side.

Current "Garbage Room" port side main deck is modified as paint storage location. Have classification society approve fire control plan to reflect this modification as paint storage/locker location. SOLAS 74/78 II-2/18.7.
