In the Cargo Pump Room, a hazardous area, electrical connections do not meet explosion proof requirements. Connections are missing stuffing tube, packing gland and gland nut. Silicon sealant is being used in lieu of a proper fitting. In one case, a plastic cap is installed installed in lieu of a proper fitting.

On a tankship, each cargo tank must be equipped with an overfill device that meets the requirements for tank overfill alarms under 46 CFR 39.20-7(b)(2) and (3), and (d)(1) through (d)(4); vessel has an overfill alarm system that is inoperable. Vessel is not to load cargo until overfill alarms are installed and tested to the satisfaction of class and Coast Guard.
