In tankers, electrical equipment, cables and wiring shall not be installed in hazardous locations unless it conforms with standards not inferior to those acceptable to the organization. PSCO observed one intrinsically safe light fixture containing internal moisture, rendering the light exposed to external elements in the hazardous cargo area.

Resolution: Vessel submitted Class report and photographs attesting to rectification.
In addition to the requirements contained elsewhere in the present regulations, ships shall be designed, constructed and maintained in compliance with the structural, mechanical and electrical requirements of a classification society which is recognized by the Administration. PSCO observed excessive wastage on cargo piping support beams, specifically with pipe securing applications. Piping U-bolts are no longer able to be secured to the support frames.
