The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. Vessels P/V valves as well as data plates had wastage and data plates were illegible to cross reference with bench test records.

The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended and shall be so installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons on board, due regard being paid to moving parts, hot surfaces and other hazards. The vessel reported a smoke alarm over the #1 MDE, upon crew investigation, smoke and sparks were observed coming from the gen set. Repair of replace the affected engine to the satisfaction of the attending class surveyor. Vessel is authorized to transit under her own power to a local repair facility.

Relief valves shall be arranged to ensure discharge is directed to minimize possibility of injury to personnel. Explosion relief valve on port inboard diesel electric generator was installed upside down and was corrected on the spot.
