The purpose of this regulation is to maintain and monitor the effectiveness of the fire safety measures the ship is provided with. For this purpose, the following functional requirements shall be met. Fire protectin systems and fire fighting systems and appliances shall be maintained ready for use. PSCO was notified onboard that hypermist system cannot be operated remotely and must be activated manually. SOLAS (04) II-2/14.1.1)

SOLAS 2009/II-2/ REG 9.1 - Thermal insulation on forward bulkhead of CO2 room was found to be in poor condition. Insulation was missing the outer aluminum layer and the inner fibers were breaking apart. Replace thermal insulation for the purpose of containing the fire.
