When carrying cargoes described in 1.6.1 provided that they comply with the requirements for IGS on chemical tankers based on guidelines developed by the organization. The inert gas system referred to in chapter II-2 of the convention shall be designed, constructed and tested to the satisfaction of the administration, it shall be designed to be capable of tendering and maintaining the atmosphere of the relevant cargo tanks non-flammable. Upon inspection of the inert gas system PSCO discovered calibration gas utilized for calibration of oxygen analyzer was found expired "2023-7-14" SOLAS 04 II-2 5.5.1.1 FSS CH 15.2.2.1.2.5

In particular those components which may be subjected to corrosive action of the gases and/or liquids are to be either constructed of corrosion-resistant material or lined with rubber, glass fiber epoxy resin or other equivalent coating material. PSCO observed expansion joints on both IG blowers were wasted and missing bolts to pipe flange. SOLAS 04 II-2 5.5.1.1 FSS CH 15.2.2.1.3
