PSCO observed six (06) nozzles throughout the deck water spray system not providing dequate coverage of the cargo deck. 1993 IGC 11.3.1.1

PSCO observed inadequate coverage of cargo tanks as a result of low water pressure during test of water-spray system. Additionally, PSCO observed two significant holes in the water-spray piping. Approximately 30-50% of the coverage area was not receiving adequate water supply. Cargo operations (discharge/loading) prohibited until deficiency corrected.74SOLAS(14)VII/13.1/IGC CODE 1993 11.3.1

Gas detection equipment acceptable to the Administration and suitable for the gases to be carried should be provided in accordance with column F in the table of Chapter 19. PSCO was unable to observe proper calibration and testing in accordance with the vessel and manufacturer's procedures. During the calibration of the NH3 electrochemical gas detector, the vessel's crew was unable to achieve the required 12mA read-out from the gas sensor's potentiometer. When testing with 50 ppm ammonia test gas, the fixed gas detection cabinet was only showing 22-27 ppm from the read out. Prior to cargo, vessel must prove proper operation of fixed gas detection.
